80004 PowerForce
90004 PowerForce+Plus
Fits 396/402/427 BB Chevy

These two dampers are unique in our line in one respect. They are the only damper not made to the original factory diameter. The original 396/427 dampers were 7" in diameter from G.M. When the 454 came out, G.M. switched to an 8-inch damper. We elected to use the 8-inch diameter on our 396/427 model to maintain consistency and also because we use these dampers in conjunction with a bolt-in counterweight to create the 454/502 model. Although we list this as a 396/427 damper, it will also work on any displacement big block engine that has a neutral balance rotating assembly. These dampers feature 60° of easy to read timing marks plus engraved marks each 90 degrees of the circumference.

90005 PowerForce+Plus
Fits 454/502 BB Chevy

These dampers are dimensionally the same as the O.E. 454 damper with an 8" O.D. and a 1.732 inertia ring thickness. The dampers feature 60° of clear, easy to read timing marks along with engraved marks every 90 degrees. The dampers both feature a bolt-in counterweight which can be removed if a neutral balance damper is desired. The damper comes with the correct counterweight, part number 91005, which is also available separately. Both the Powerforce High Performance damper for street and the SFI-spec Powerforce+Plus damper for all-out racing are extremely affordable dampers. Professional Products dampers are among the very best selling high performance dampers available.

90036/90037 PowerForce+Plus
Fits 396/427/454/502 Big Block Chevy

These new dampers are significantly lighter in weight than our regular big block dampers. The 80000 series is 4.2 pounds lighter and the 90000 series is 4.8 pounds lighter. The 80036 and 90036 fit the 396/427 engines and the 80037/90037 dampers fit the 454/502 engines and are equipped with a bolt-in counterweight. Removal of the counterweight converts these dampers to a neutral balance style and in fact they then become an 80036/90036 damper. In order to reduce the weight but still allow use of our bolt-in counterweight the O.D. of these dampers is halfway between the standard 396/427 7” and 454/502 8” damper diameters. This may require a custom timing pointer although you should be able to use the pointer for an 8” damper.
